About Clement Arts

What does "Clement Arts" mean?

The word “clement” means “merciful.” At Clement Arts, we view the art and music we make as opportunities to communicate goodness, truth, and beauty. We want to respond to God’s mercy by putting Him on display. We know that God cares deeply for the orphan (James 1:27, Psalm 68:5, Isaiah 1:17), so our music and art  - and every creative endeavor - becomes a platform for the merciful call to orphan care.

What does Clement Arts do?

Since 2012, Clement Arts has hosted events such as art shows and concerts to raise funds for selected adoptive families in our community. In addition to adoption fundraising, our Clement Kids program offers hands-on experiences with the arts that adds beauty to lives of children while supporting adoption and foster care. Clement Care is a foster care support program which equips and supports local churches as we meet foster care needs in our community.

We strive toward five key areas of impact: 1) Raising orphan care awareness in our community; 2) Rallying financial & emotional support for adoptive families; 3) Providing tangible support to foster families and children in care; 4) Reflecting the goodness and beauty of God through children’s arts instruction; and 5) Exposing the gospel of Jesus Christ as the means by which we are adopted into God’s family (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:4-5, Ephesians 1:5)

About Adoption Support

How are adoptive families selected for support?

Currently, our Board of Directors selects adoptive families from within our community that need support. Eligible families will have completed their initial adoption home study. If you or someone you know is in need of adoption support, we would love to hear from you. You can learn more at our Clement Arts Adoption Grants page.

Does Clement Arts support adoptive families from any location?

While we recognize the need for adoption resources outside our local area, we feel called to prioritize care and support for families in the areas surrounding Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. Visit our Adoption Resources page for other potential support opportunities and organizations.

What types of adoption does Clement Arts support?

Clement Arts supports agency-led adoptions (both domestic and international) and adoptions from foster care. We currently are unable to provide financial support for private adoptions. For a list of adoption agencies in our area, visit our Adoption Resources page.

About Clement Kids Classes

Who can attend Clement Kids classes?

Everyone! Well, all children, that is. (Sorry, grown-ups!) Clement Kids classes are open to all children in the community, and all children are welcome. Class age ranges vary by course and instructor, but generally range from 2-18 years of age. Children in foster care are invited to attend classes tuition-free.

About Clement Care Foster Ministry

I'm a pastor or church leader who sees the need for foster ministry, but what if I'm too busy to take on anything new?

The last thing we want is for foster ministry to be a burden to an already busy pastor. We know your plate is full! The good news with Clement Care is that we train, equip, and support church members within your congregation to do the work of foster ministry within your church. All your foster "Advocates" will need from you is the empowerment and permission to put your church's foster ministry strategy into action. Leave the rest to us!

I'm not a pastor or church leader - how can I get started in foster ministry in my church?

If your church does not have an active foster ministry, the first step is to look around to see if anyone else in your church shares your heart for foster care. Have conversations with those in your church community, then talk to your pastor and express your desire to make something happen. When it comes to the what and how to make it happen, that's where we at Clement Arts can help! Our Clement Care program is here to guide you step by step in forming, leading, and sustaining a vibrant foster ministry in your church. Even if it feels a little scary, don't underestimate the power of dreaming big and starting small!

I've read about Clement Care foster ministry on this website, but what if I still have questions?

We would love to talk with you and hear your questions! Send us a message over at our contact page
