Who We Are

Carmen has served in senior leadership roles in the non-profit field in both human services and arts & culture, including Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, The Pastoral Institute, and The Columbus Museum. She enjoys how the arts bring truth, goodness, and beauty to light and point to our Creator. She sees the arts as a meaningful way to bring people together to provide hope and help to children and families in the midst of foster care and adoption. Storytelling is Carmen’s favorite art form, especially classic children’s literature. Carmen has called the Columbus area home for 17 years. She is married to Ryan, and they have two children.

Amelia Cox is from Columbus, GA and lives here with her husband, John, and their son, James. Amelia began volunteering with Clement Arts in May 2015. Now the full-time Director of Operations, she has brought great care and growth to the arts programs. She loves how the Lord has brought together her love for adoption and foster care with her passion for music and fine arts. Amelia attends Christ Community Church.

Christal Gavin is happy to call Columbus home. After 18 years of moving due to her husband's military career, her family decided to plant roots in the South. Foster and orphan care are a passion for Christal and her family. She and her husband, Mark, have been licensed foster parents since 2016. Christal and Mark, along with their 3 children, are members of Christ Community Church where they helped lead an active foster ministry. Christal has also led a ministry for foster families on Ft. Benning. She now facilitates a growing network of such foster ministries with Clement Arts as Clement Care Director.
