Clement Arts is led by a Board of Directors and operated by our staff team below.
Clement Arts Board & Staff
Allen Whitley – Board Chairman, Treasurer
Allen Whitley is a Columbus, GA native. Joining the Clement Arts board in 2018, he loves how the adoption and fostering of orphans is a representation of God’s adoption of us through his Son, Jesus Christ. Allen attends St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and works for Synovus Bank as a Private Wealth Advisor. He enjoys traveling and playing golf and tennis.
David Hancock - Board Member
David Hancock was born and raised in California but has proudly called Columbus his home for almost five years. He has been married to his wife, Halley, for ten years and God has allowed them to be thankful parents of two children, Adelaide (3) and Dawson (1). Even before becoming a father himself, David has always had a huge heart for children, so the mission of Clement Arts immediately caught his attention. He loves that this organization promotes and fosters an environment where children are seen as a treasure. David is a member at CrossPointe Church and works at Merrill Lynch as a Wealth Management Advisor. Besides being with his family, David’s other favorite activities include tennis, woodworking, and tackling house projects.
Edith Moyana – Board Member, Secretary
Edith Moyana was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She is a member of CrossPointe Church, where she serves with children’s ministry and on the praise team. She is married to her wonderful husband, Reuben, and is mother to two beautiful little girls, Joy and Jaida. Edith is a veterinarian by profession, although she is presently a full time homeschooling mom. In her free time Edith enjoys singing, tennis, volunteering in ministry, and spending time with her family.
Larry Young - Board Member, Assistant Treasurer
Larry Young, Jr. was born and raised in Buford, GA but now proudly calls Columbus home with his wife of 13 years, Christy. They have five children: Madison, Brynleigh, Tytan, Everly, and Cal. Larry and his wife are also licensed foster parents. Being adopted himself, Larry has a passion for adoption and fostering of orphans and sees it an opportunity to live out and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Larry is a member of MidTree Church and works for Aflac as a Corporate Transactions Attorney. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, ministering to residents at the Muscogee County Jail, weight-lifting, and reading Puritan literature.
Carmen Overton – Executive Director
Carmen has served in senior leadership roles in the non-profit field in both human services and arts & culture, including Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, The Pastoral Institute, and The Columbus Museum. She enjoys how the arts bring truth, goodness, and beauty to light and point to our Creator. She sees the arts as a meaningful way to bring people together to provide hope and help to children and families in the midst of foster care and adoption. Storytelling is Carmen’s favorite art form, especially classic children’s literature. Carmen has called the Columbus area home for 17 years. She is married to Ryan, and they have two children. They are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church where Carmen teachers 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School.
Amelia Cox – Clement Kids Director
Amelia Cox is from Columbus, GA and lives here with her husband, John. Amelia began volunteering with Clement Arts in May 2015. Now the full-time Clement Kids Director, she has brought great care and growth to the program. She loves how the Lord has brought together her love for adoption and foster care with her passion for music and fine arts. Amelia attends Christ Community Church.
Christal Gavin - Clement Care Director
Christal Gavin is happy to call Columbus home. After 18 years of moving due to her husband's military career, her family decided to plant roots in the South. Foster and orphan care are a passion for Christal and her family. She and her husband, Mark, have been licensed foster parents since 2016. Christal and Mark, along with their 3 children, are members of Christ Community Church where they helped lead an active foster ministry. Christal has also led a ministry for foster families on Ft. Benning. She now facilitates a growing network of such foster ministries with Clement Arts as Clement Care Director.
Holly Price - Clement Kids Creative Director
Holly Price is from Columbus, GA and lives here with her husband, Gill, and their three children. She holds a Bachelor’s in early childhood education from LaGrange College, and taught first and second grades in Georgia and Virginia before deciding to stay home with her three girls. Holly grew up taking ballet and has always had a love for the art of dance. Her heart is to pursue dance excellently and as an expression of worship to glorify and honor the Lord. She is delighted to be a part of what the Lord is doing in and through Clement Kids.
Amanda Taylor - Clement Kids Assistant
Amanda Taylor grew up in Vermont, but she has moved all over the world with her husband, Dan and their three girls, as Dan serves in the military. Amanda loves the opportunity she gets to explore new places and meet new friends! She has a Masters in Education, loves coffee, listening to praise music at a loud volume, and occasionally a cleansing cry. Although she has never personally experienced adoption or fostering, Amanda has walked the path as a friend to many who have. Her heart desires to be more involved in the ministry of caring for orphans, and Clement Arts is just one way in which she is able to participate in this small Kingdom task.
